(before ladder resets there was a ton of item duping, causing Stone of Jordan to end up as the base currency for trading higher value items, making trading nearly impossible for newer players) There was no "effect" so to speak, like D3 seasons, but it served the purpose of resetting the economy and making trading possible again, without things being valued in stones of jordan.
